Sparring Competition @ Kuala Lipis, Pahang

Where? Kuala Lipis, Pahang
When? 2nd August 2009, Sunday. Whole day.
People? 6 from Taman SEA

Early in the morning, 6 of us (Kok Keong, Mun yi, Amelia, Jason, Huey Chee and Wai Phun) left Taman SEA to meet up with Sir Ben Wong after the Gombak toll. Somehow, your awesome seniors managed to make it there safely, where a lot of last minute shirt tucking in occurred.

Our group was the brightest among the 4 cars present, with two outstanding banana-like people. Out of the four cars, 3 were Honda's. LOL.

Made the long 2 hours plus drive to Kuala Lipis, where everything became more and more ulu-like. There was a point in time when Kok Keong and Jason agreed that it looked a lot like Seremban.

Stopped at a mamak for food. Roti canai and drinks. Wai Phun regretted not ordering more.

After that it was time for the competition, nearly got led into the wrong place at first. AIR CONDITIONED HALL. So cold, that I wanted my jacket.

Sparring competition was mainly for primary school kids, and some secondary. We were told that it was somehow like a MSSD for them.

Sorry to say, but it wasn't very well organized. Even Taman Sea's one flowed smoothly compared to this. Perhaps not enough manpower? The waiting time between bouts at first was a killer.

And since it was little kids, it was probably the only time you'll see the referee help them tie vest, put on guards and pick them up when they fall down. == But at least we got the experience of standing in the ring and making judgments.

Made new friends, and Sir Aiman found out how lame Seaparkians are. He claims we have killed his brain cells.

Lunch was provided, using our hands as spoons. Quite an experience watching Sir Ben eating with his hands as well.

The competition ended around 6 or 7pm. Had a quick stop before heading back to PJ. We could have had a durian fest. But, SOMEONE's (who just came back from US, guess who) mommy was looking for her.

So we had to head back ourselves first. Luckily it was all the way straight. Or your awesome seniors might still be lost somewhere in the uluness of Pahang.
